Building an Agile Workforce for the Future of Work in the Pension Industry
PenOp in partnership with the Human Resource Vice President of ARM Pension, Emeka Dibia, organised her final monthly knowledge-sharing session for the year 2022.
The session was designed to show the importance of having an agile workforce in the promotion of the various operations within the Pension industry. The session highlighted the need to continuously upskill and reskill the people who make up an organization.
In this session, participants gained a deeper understanding of what it means to develop one's agility, which is a crucial component in the growth of businesses. The facilitator, Emeka Dibia reiterated the importance of understanding the domains of business agility which includes customer, work, connection and mindset, as this brings about the achievement of set goals. Participants were urged to always keep in mind that every process involved in achieving the agility of one’s business is as important as the other as an organization cannot grow and develop to become agile when the mindset of its employees is resistant to change.
He stated that an Agile leader leads by learning to inspire purpose, establish goals, and coordinate directions that support the development of an Agile workforce. To buttress this, he established the fact that organizations can make it “safe to fail” by recognizing that failure is a part of daily work and not something to blame or judge people for, but rather a learning process. Additionally, the facilitator emphasized the value of feedback and how crucial it is to the expansion of every organization.
